Proofreading is a final check to correct mistakes or inconsistencies in your document's text and layout. We can also check the figures in data-heavy documents.

After proofreading, your document will:

  • have correct and consistent spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • be laid out consistently, with no errors or missing elements
  • conform with your organisation's style conventions.

Choose proofreading when you're already happy with the document. It should be close to its final form and may have been signed off. Proofreading is most useful after design or uploading to the web, when problems with layout and links can be found and corrected.

Proofreading doesn't affect organisation or style  so it won't convert your document into plain English. For plain English editing, choose a comprehensive or style edit.
